A heartfelt tale of courage and adventure
Ecuadorian artist and storyteller Chogrin (Joseph Game) has debuted his original animated short, Lucky Brave’s Sunshine, on YouTube. The short film blends coming-of-age storytelling with Space Western elements, following a young boy named Lucky as he embarks on a daring mission to save his beloved grandmother.
Festival acclaim and industry recognition
The film premiered in 2023 and has been featured at prestigious international festivals, including Chilemonos and the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF). At LALIFF, it earned a nomination for Best Direction, showcasing its critical acclaim and audience appeal.
An accomplished creative team
Lucky Brave’s Sunshine was co-written and co-directed by Chogrin and Andrés “Ichi” Aguilar, with production led by Jorge R. Gutierrez, the creator of Maya and the Three. Animation was handled by Matte CG, a Quito-based studio known for its exceptional work on Aguilar’s award-winning short Afterwork, in collaboration with Inti FX.
